A virtual interactive discussion was held on 18 March that aimed to challenge how we think, feel, and act towards age and ageing. The event launched the first UN Global report on ageism, developed by WHO, OHCHR, UNDESA, and UNFPA. The report presents the latest evidence on a topic that has only gained greater relevance during the COVID-19 pandemic. The event highlighted what we know about ageism, why it matters, and how we can tackle it. It kicked off a global conversation that concerns us all and in which we all should have our say. People that joined the first conversation were provided with resources to spark their own conversations.
