The Elder Abuse Prevention Strategy (EAPS) was developed to protect and safeguard the rights of older Victorians. The fundamental principle underpinning the strategy is that every Victorian has the right to live safely and to be treated with dignity and respect. However, some senior Victorians are affected by elder abuse and this is unacceptable.
The purpose of this toolkit is to assist member agencies to: put in place tools and processes to identify cases of elder abuse and to facilitate appropriate action to be taken in cases of elder abuse or suspected elder abuse and support an integrated and standardised approach to the management of elder abuse.
